Sunset on the Deck July 1, 2019

Another great Monday night at the marina deck on a hot muggy night. The crowd seemed larger than the first gathering but I did not get a count. The signal flags were flying, and once again plenty of food shared and libations consumed.

Nancy (Kayak Chair) and Greg Schulte brought kayak props to the gathering for show and tell. A map was used to show sites of past and planned trips. Our website has a lot of information on trips and the kayak loaner program.

Lots of conversations took place. A rep from Ace Basin was present and engaged. The harbormaster, Curtis, was also present and circulating. Bob Sadler, Marina Committee Chair, addressed the gathering regarding ownership and support.

Ted Bartlett, GM of the DIOA, gave us an update on the marina plans. The shoreline dock are now shipping July 10th, due to the holiday, with installation planned by end of July. Gasoline and diesel dispensing at the bull pen is being planned. The lottery for shoreline dock space is in the works and will take place next week. See Ted’s recent e-mail for more details on the lottery procedure.

We had at least 8 potential new members present at the gathering.

With the hot hot weather, some people did not stay for the sunset which was a gorgeous deep red. That was completely understandable.

Thank you to the board members who provided tables, table cloths, signal flag and decorations.

Join us at next gathering which will be towards the end of July when the new docks are being put in. Stay tuned for an e-mail invitation.
