Commodores 2025 Cruise

The DIYC Commodore’s cruise to Savannah will be May 6th. We are sending out this email early in an effort to get all those whose wish to participate an opportunity to reserve rooms and slips. We welcome DIYC members by boat as well as by land, so please read below regarding the event, marina, hotel, and festivities. We have also planned as an option to extend your trip and go down to St. Simons Island, GA for a couple more nights May 7^th & 8^th.

We are asking members to sign up HERE. Please let us know if you will join us by boat or by car along with the number of crew/guests so we can plan accordingly. THANK YOU!

ACCOMMODATIONS

Savannah

Doubletree Hotel by Hilton Savannah Historic District 411 West. Bay St. In downtown Savannah, between iconic River Street and City Market. The negotiated rooms have a rate of $199.00. We have a block of rooms under “Dataw Island Yacht Club”. Rooms must be booked by 4/6/25. You may now begin making reservations by calling the hotel 912-790-7000 directly and referencing the group name (Dataw Island Yacht Club).

DIYC Party:

DIYC will be hosting a party on Tuesday May 6th from 4:00-6:00pm. The event will be held at the Doubletree’s sister property right next-door the Hilton Garden Inn 321 West Bay St. in their Garden Grill Restaurant. Very light appetizers, beer and wine will be provided. (or at least until our budget runs out!) A cash bar will also be available. We think this event is a great way to get the whole traveling group together, if just for a few hours.

One note- No outside food and beverages are allowed at this event!

By Sea – Savannah

Thunderbolt Marina is conveniently located just outside Savannah on the Wilmington River in historic Thunderbolt, Georgia at Intracoastal Waterway Marker #35 (ICW Mile #583). Marina Office (912) 210-0363 / VHF 16/11. Ask for Frank (Dockmaster) he is our contact.

You will need to book your slip on Dockwa. The marina can accommodate 15 boats from DIYC. Daily rate $2.25/ft/day + Utility Charges. Boat U.S. discount is $2.10/ft/day.

When making your reservation on Dockwa- add in the comment section-- "Dataw Island Yacht Club". You will need a Dockwa account if you do not already have one. Using the app on your phone is the easiest way to go. CLICK HERE to book a slip.

You will need to book your slip on Dockwa. The marina can accommodate a max 10 boats from DIYC. Daily rate $3.35/ft/day + Utility Charges. Boat U.S. discount is 10% off transient rate.
