As the largest club on Dataw Island, the yacht club is an active social and cruising community that offers something for everyone.  We are open to all Dataw members who enjoy the nautical lifestyle and being on the water.

While our activities emphasize good times, we are serious about enhancing our member's boating skills through education and preserving our local waterways by partnering with the Port Royal Sound Foundation.

At just $85 per household, membership is a bargain, especially when you consider the many options available to our members.

Our Beginning

DIYC has joyfully celebrated over three decades of boating, sailing, cruising, camaraderie, socializing, and a shared love of the water.

Our beginnings were humble but enthusiastic.  In 1991, visiting boaters spent a few nights at the Dataw Marina to check on the construction of their new homes.  During dinner with fellow boaters, the idea for formalized yachting activities crystalized.

The idea quickly became a reality.  The 1992 island newsletter predicted that "there is no doubt that the Dataw Island Yacht Club will become one of the most meaningful and significant organizations on Dataw Island".

Fast forward 32 years and the passion for boating and good times continues among our members. The Dataw Island Yacht Club is, and will continue to be, a meaningful addition to Dataw Island.
